Holy Roman Empire: A Book Review

by D. B. Elias, Reviewer-at-Large, The al-Andulus Catalog of Literature

It is often said that times of peril bring out either the best in people, or the worst. An example of the latter can be found in the form of Holy Roman Empire, the newest fantastic-fantasy by Taamir al-Rashid, the mind behind the much-discussed (and debated) An Ocean Called War and A Time for Obedience. Both were considered controversies when they were published. However, compared to his latest work, his previous volumes are no more offensive than your run-of-the-mill children’s bedtime story.

In this review, I hope to shed some light on what could have possibly inspired the most insipid, militaristic, and paranoid story to clutter the shelves of the Arabian Union since the publication of Slander: The Lies Told About me by the Secularist Traitors. It's going to be quite the slog, so let's get started...
