Here's a WI to go along with the movie (which I haven't yet seen): WI Rommel wasn't implicated? IIRC some general who botched suicide kept repeating Rommel's name, the Gestapo started asking questions, and ultimately the Desert Fox wound up taking poison to avoid a trial for High Treason, and imprisonment of his family. But WI for whatever reason Rommel's involvement never came up? After his recovery from nearly getting killed by a RAF fighter-bomber in Normandy, where would Hitler have sent Rommel? Back to the Western Front? Or to the Eastern Front to try and stop Zhukov and Koniev? There were several generals who did have both Eastern and Western experience (Model, Bayerlein, Mantueffel, von Rundstedt), so sending Rommel east wouldn't necessarily be out of the question. Or does he take over the Western Front from von Rundstedt?
