The Dawn of a Century: an Iberian timeline

Extras #3
We walked by the sea
yet your curls lost to the waves;
The house we made a home,
is now an opulent grave.

The kisses that made me sigh,
feel empty and vain;
The peace is gone
from the bed we had lain.

My days do not mind,
but the nights have lost their grace;
What use do they have?
if the love is lost from your embrace?

-Poem credited to King Manuel I of Portugal, called 'The Lost Love'. Was said to have been written by the King after he discovered his wife, Queen Isabel II of Castile 's affairs. The poems were reveled to the public in early 2010.
