To help assuage those fears and anxities, the Civil Defense Administration would produce how-to guides to show families how to build shelters of their own in their own homes with easily available materials.
Countless numbers of these home bomb shelters would be built all across america, with many treated as weekend projects for the entire family. However, many (if not all) of these shelters would prove to be woefully inadequate, leaving many to suffer agonising deaths from Radiation sickness or ghoulification
