What if Labour doesn't win in post-WW2 Britain?

I just watched the first episode of the 7th series of Foyle's War, and it ended with (SPOILERS) a Labour victory (/SPOILERS)

...which got me wondering: if Churchill's party had won another victory in that election, would Churchill be Prime Minister again, or would he hand the reigns to another in his party?

Well, it's pretty clearly Labour's election to lose in 45, so in my view, probably the easiest way to avoid a Labour landslide is for Attlee to manage to convince his party to remain in the Coaltion government with the Conservatives until demobilization is complete.

In that case, my guess is that Churchill would probably groom a successor for leadership of the Conservative Party in time for the next election.
