I propose removing either MacCarthy's presidency or one of Nixon's terms to make room for this:

Very much agree there, really I think we should have it so that time line 191 has a USA that is too fractured politically to allow one to successfully stay on for more than three terms.

The youth organization, Sons of Confederate Veterans, was set up by former members of the Confederate Army that didn't hold Freedom-party ties. They formed the organization as an alternative to the Freedom-party backed Sons of Freedom. They are a peaceful organization that acts as a support network for veterans and the families of those veterans of the former Confederacy. They have since been involved in peaceful protests against overly-agressive northern policies, and are dedicated to preserving the culture of the former Confederacy. A noticable addition to the organization was former General George Patton, who, after discovering the truth about the population reduction program, cut all ties with his former party in disgust, and sought to help his fellow southerners move beyond those hateful years. Recently, General Patton met with President Morrell, who came out in support of the organization, and sought to utilize it in helping along reconstruction.

Morrell was Rommel, not Adenauer. You can use Adenauer but he was NOT that old. How about...

34. Thomas Dewey (D) (1945-53)
35. Adlai Stevenson (S) (1953-54)
36. Joseph McCarthy (S) (1954-57)
37. Richard Nixon (R) (1957-65)
38. Irving Morrel (D) (1965-73)

That's nifty because Morrel (Rommel) comes to power the same age Adenauer did.

Rommel never grew old. I used Adenauer for the sake of convenience.

and I suppose that works

Don't forget that Morrell's likely going to have health problems from the superbomb fallout--that could make for some ugliness down the line.

Also, Nixon will likely be a Democrat; Republicans were just a small Midwestern party in TL-191, though I can definitely see some of the new Canadian states going Republican once they're brought into the Union. Maybe they could grab Kentucky, too.
